Star Information Systems

Star Information Systems (STAR) has been a trusted partner to clients in the global maritime and offshore sectors for more than 25 years, helping vessel operators control, maintain and optimize their physical and technical assets across business units and geographical locations. With STAR’s fully integrated Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system, operators are able to optimize their maintenance processes, reduce downtime and operational costs, and enhance asset performance and crew safety, all while complying with the most stringent regulatory frameworks.

STAR was founded in 1997 as an early introducer of EAM systems to the maritime and offshore sectors, built by a team already known for pioneering the maritime IT-space with solutions such as the SFI Group System and the “TSAR” and “RAST” maintenance systems. Today, the company is headquartered in Norway and operates through five global offices with a dedicated team of around 60 professionals. With the release of their new cloud-based software platform in 2024, STAR is uniquely positioned to lead in the maritime software landscape as the industry transitions from on-premise to web-enabled solutions.

Longship became the majority owner in 2024. Together with Longship, almost a quarter of the company’s employees and existing shareholders have invested in the company.
