SEAM

There is an enormous potential for reducing emissions in the maritime sector by using batteries or hydrogen as energy carriers. SEAM is the leading supplier of hybrid and fully electric propulsion systems and automated solutions for ferries, ships and other vessels. The company is also at the forefront of the development of propulsion systems with hydrogen as energy carrier.

SEAM was previously known under the name Westcon Power & Automation, when it was part of the shipyard group Westcon. The company positioned itself early on for solutions that reduced costs and emissions for the maritime industry, and experienced strong growth.

Longship became the majority owner in 2021 together with a larger group of SEAM employees.  The company has since increased its growth ambitions significantly. SEAM is today the market leader in the Norwegian market and the ambition is to take its expertise and technology internationally.
